Google Calendar add-ons: install the intended integration and check its meeting account

Installing an add-on and creating a usable meeting are separate checkpoints. First establish whether the Google account may install the integration; then select the intended conferencing provider in the event and verify which service account is signing in. A Marketplace installation alone does not confirm the meeting’s joining details.

Write the integration brief

For a fictional project group, list the meeting service required, the calendar that owns the event and the person allowed to approve the integration. If a workplace controls installation, ask for its approved route rather than using a personal calendar to bypass the restriction.

Google points to Workspace Marketplace for Calendar add-ons and says missing installation options can require administrator help. Keep the integration’s purpose distinct from account-wide calendar sharing. An app being available in a marketplace is not this article’s security endorsement.

Install and choose the conferencing route

Google’s computer instructions open Get add-ons from Calendar settings or its side panel. After the approved installation, the event’s conferencing dropdown can select the add-on instead of Google Meet, followed by the provider’s account sign-in steps.

Check the account shown by that provider before continuing. The Google calendar owner and conferencing-service identity can be different decisions. For a sample event, record both explicitly instead of assuming the most recently signed-in personal account is the intended host.

Verify a harmless sample meeting

Create a clearly labelled test appointment with no private agenda and only cooperative participants where needed. Inspect the saved date, owning calendar and generated joining information. Ask the intended participant to check the correct link using their own account and normal access conditions.

If the integration fails, record which stage failed: installation, sign-in, event conference creation or participant access. Google directs add-on problems to its developer through Marketplace. A missing join result is not by itself a reason to reconnect every calendar account.

Uninstall deliberately and review dependent meetings

Google documents uninstalling through Marketplace and notes that some managed installations require an administrator. Before removal, list which future meetings depend on the integration and agree how those meetings should be maintained.

Do not assume uninstalling rewrites existing invitations, cancels a provider subscription or erases earlier content. Review those questions in the relevant service. Cloud Calendars’ own Google Meet and Teams options are separate from installing a Google Marketplace add-on in the web calendar.

What to do

  1. Confirm the required provider and approved installation route.
  2. Install the intended add-on in the correct Google account.
  3. Select it in a disposable event and inspect the provider identity.
  4. Record the failing stage or planned removal before changing broader access.

Questions

Why can’t I install or remove the add-on?
Google says work or school administrators can control these actions. Use the organization’s approved route.
Does installation prove participants can join?
No. Verify the saved meeting details and the intended recipient’s access separately.
