What most people assume
That a Lock Screen widget is a weaker version of a Home Screen one.
Constraint is the feature
A Lock Screen widget cannot show much, so it shows the thing that matters. That is not a limitation you work around; it is the reason it gets read at all.
The screen is glanced at dozens of times a day, mostly for the time. Anything sitting beside the clock is effectively free attention.
What deserves the space
The next event and, if you are going outside, the conditions. Anything more becomes a block of grey text that nobody parses.
If you find yourself squinting, the widget is doing too much.

- Put the calendar one nearest where your eye already goes.
- If you never read it, remove it — an ignored widget trains you to ignore that region of the screen.
