That makes the problem far smaller than it feels, and far more tractable: you are not trying to predict a day, only two half-hours.
Which changes what you check
The useful question is not whether it rains today but whether it rains at eight and at six. Those are two specific hours, and hourly detail answers them well inside the range where forecasts are strong.
Shifting a departure by twenty minutes is often the entire fix, and it is only visible if you looked at the hours.
